Visited here for a couple of nights at the end of June. Hotel is a good location for the north bar attractions, and perfect for the open air theatre, just a short walk away - could even hear the music clearly from there the night we weren't there. Parking is tight and small, and fills up quick. Owners very friendly and happy to help, there's a small continental breakfast included with the room if you want it too. Rooms have everything you need, and are very clean and tidy, just what we needed to spend a couple of nights. No fridge but tea/coffee and a kettle. Shampoo etc. also provided for the shower. Overall a good stay, and will be back again if we see something at the Scarborough Open Air Theatre.
Very comfortable accommodation. Excellent breakfast. We were very well looked after by the couple who manage the hotel,Sandra & John. We can't wait to go back there next year.
I booked a stay at Hotel Catania last minute after being let down by a local guesthouse and nearly spending the night in my car! What a relief it was to be greeted with such a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The hotel really does what it says on the tin—no frills, just good vibes, great service, and a lovely, quiet spot overlooking the beautiful Scarborough beach. Perfect for a peaceful stay with stunning views. Definitely made the best out of what could’ve been a nightmare night. Would happily return!
Just a big thank you to our hosts JOHN AND SANDRA for the last 2 days . The room was always clean and tidy , the breakfast was superb a great choice on the menu , and finally to our hosts themselves who were so welcoming to us and friendly. Lovely place to stay. The staff were all friendly and did a great job, even at this uncertain times. John and Sandra were both amazing, and friendly people. Breakfast was always fresh and hot, and nothing was ever to much trouble. Will definitely return.
Lovely place, the rooms are very well kept, clean and tidy, the beach is a 5 minute walk from the hotel door. The breakfast is truly fantastic, a great choice of what too eat. The owners John and Sandra are very welcoming and at night theres a little bar where the guests can sit and have a chat with them or the other guests. I would highly recommend this guesthouse and will be definitely be looking to return with the family,as often as possible.
We had a lovely stay at the start of July, John was even waiting to welcome us on the front step! Our room was on the top floor and had fab views of the bay with plenty of space for my partner and I plus 6 year old. Easy walking distance to south bay /town and north bay beach on our doorstep. A great base to explore the Yorkshire coast and a warm reception from John, Sandra and their helpful staff - not to mention a superb breakfast!
The hosts and staff were extremely friendly, the breakfast was freshly cooked and really good. The cleanliness was to a high standard. Parking onsite was an added bonus. 3 stars for the room purely on the fact that is was really small. However the sea view was lovely and as advertised.
